To override a unit's default Labor Type and Work Type settings

Using the Design toolbar in the Design Assistant, you can override the Labor Type and Work Type settings of a compatible unit before you assign it to a design. Changing the Labor Type and Work Type settings on the Design toolbar will temporarily modify the default Labor Type and Work Type settings of any unit in the Units Catalog during the current design session. You can restore the default properties of the unit by manually resetting the Labor Type and Work Type settings on the Design toolbar or by reopening the Design Assistant.

Only the Labor Type and Work Type settings can be modified before you assign public compatible units. To modify other default properties for use in a design, assign the unit first and then make the necessary changes to its properties. 1. With the design open in the Design Assistant window, choose Units Catalog from the View menu to display the Units Catalog.

   Or click the Units Catalog button on the Standard toolbar.

2. In the Labor Type or Work Type box (or both) on the Design toolbar, specify the setting(s) that you want to apply to a compatible unit in the Units Catalog.
3. Drag the unit from the catalog to a work location or feature displayed in the Design Workspace.
